In the early morning hours of Sunday, September 3, 2017, a disturbance was reported in the area of 18th
Avenue and Grant Street. At about 3:50 a.m., a passerby found Sammy Nixon Jr. unresponsive in the same
area. Officers responded to the scene and confirmed Sammy had been the victim of a homicide.
