On Monday, April 23, 2001 at approximately 3:30 p.m., Velda Chimoni and a coworker were confronted by suspects in a robbery of a Whataburger restaurant at 450 W. Indian School Road. Velda Chimoni was fatally shot in the confrontation. Investigators are seeking any information regarding this incident.
