On Sunday, September 1, 2024 at 8:02 a.m. Alan Whitworth and Jamal Avery were shot while working construction in the area of 39th Street and Thomas Road. Alan Whitworth did not survive his injuries and Jamal Avery is still in critical condition at a local hospital. Investigators are seeking any information regarding this incident.
