Crime Information:
On Wednesday, November 15, 2023, Hans Schmidt was standing on the northwest corner of 51st Avenue and Peoria preaching on a loudspeaker. Hans, a preacher at the Victory Chapel First Phoenix, was known to preach weekly before church services began. At about 6:17 p.m., Hans was shot from an unknown firearm, resulting in life-threatening injuries. Hans was taken to the hospital in critical condition. Detectives do not know if the suspect was in a vehicle or on foot during the attack. Investigators are seeking any information into the person responsible for this violent act.
